I have made this bracelet with a range of exquisite pink beads in soft shades of pink giving it a really feminine and delicate touch.

High quality pear drop shaped pale pink faceted glass beads glisten beautifully (it is really hard to tell that they are not crystals) and the pale pink faceted bicone Swarovski crystals provide an extra sparkle.

Interspersed between these are semi-precious rose quartz nuggets, a range of pink quality beads and small pale pink pearl beads.

This bracelet is set on memory wire and will wrap around the average wrist one and three quarter times and one and a half times on an extra wide wrist.

On those days when time is too precious to waste it fiddling to fasten your bracelet, memory wire provides the perfect answer; wrap it on, push it together to fit your wrist, and it will sit there firmly whilst wearing it, until you unwind it to take it off.

Summer berries is an eclectic mix of red and white beads, set on memory wire, which blend together beautifully.  Almost all the beads have some decoration, including delicately painted flowers, evil eyes (to protect against evil forces), decorated wooden beads, red with splashes of gold.

This bracelet which simply reminds me of summer berries will wrap around the average wrist one and three quarter times and one and a half times on an extra wide wrist.

Pastel Blues – Necklace by Creative Hands

Various tints of cornflower pastel blues in  have been combined to make this irresistible necklace giving it a soft, warm feel and my carved lizard, a symbol of luck, beckoned to be photographed with it.

Silver foil lining gives beads a two tone effect and also adds shimmer and a faintly crackled effect and I have used  round and oval mix of them in blue around the necklace.  The centre bead is a barrel shape with a silver bead nestling either side of it.

There are also four large round, blue crackled glass beads and towards the top of the necklace are two blue, round faceted Swarovski crystals.

Acting as spacers between each of the foil lined and crackled glass beads are beautiful Swarovski glass pearls in pale blue with a fabulous soft sheen.

The overall length of the necklace, which fastens with Tibetan style toggle clasp  is 19” (48cm).

Simply Red – Memory Box by Creative Hands

This vibrant red memory box will brighten up any space where you choose to give it a home and will appeal especially to someone who has a preference for classic pieces.  Having hand painted the box I used decoupage techniques to add the lady, whose outfit reminds me of clothes my grandmother used to wear and some of my favourite flowers; roses and pansies.

To add to the richness of the box I have painted the inside in a fabulous metallic gold paint and to protect your furniture the base of the box is covered in felt.

For a lasting finish the box is hard varnished.  This hinged wood box fastens with a gold metal catch and as with all my boxes it is a design I will not repeat so you can be sure you won’t spot the same one elsewhere.

The overall dimensions of the box are L7” x W4½” x D3½” (18cm x 11.5cm x 9cm)

Lemon and Lime Zest – Necklace by Creative Hands

Spring is here, albeit it is grey and raining, but this lemon and lime necklace will cheer you up whatever the weather and give you back your zest for life.

The fabulous crackled glass beads remind me of little sorbet balls.

For the rest of the necklace I have used a range of semi-precious stones including beautifully crafted lemon jade hearts and, if it’s not too much of a contradiction in terms, loads of little yellow turquoise stones to uplift your creative spirit.  Six jade coins, each with their own soft green/yellow banding will sit flat  round the neckline.

The necklace closes with a bali style, silver toggle clasp and is 17½” ( 44.5 cm) in length.

As with everything I make I will not repeat this design and it will reach you packed in a gift box.

Crafts and Gardens at Sherborne Castle

Shirley and Ann will be at Sherborne Castle for the Crafts and Gardens Show over the May bank holiday, 5, 6 and 7  & May 2012.  The show is open from 1000 to 1800 each day.  The magnificent historic house is set in fine landscaped gardens with sweeping lawns and looks over the charming serpentine lake created by ‘Capability Brown’

Little Blue Teds – Children’s Memory Box from Creative Hands

Like all Teds, these two guys are adorable and this cute  hand decorated box would make an ideal christening or name day gift for baby’s tiny treasures.  The box is hand painted in gold on the inside and covered in felt on the bottom to prevent any scratching.

Purple Heaven – Necklace and Earrings from Creative Hands

Indulge yourself or someone special with this delicate flat double link sterling silver chain necklace embellished with crystals and with matching earrings – perfect for romantic evenings.

The sterling silver ball stud earrings with butterfly fastening have a drop of just under 1” (2cm) and each has a beautiful square purple crystal.

Each section of chain is linked with a combination of Swarovski crystals: two of light purple and clear AB faceted bicones and tiny sterling silver beads; two with silver beads and light purple and square clear crystals and at the centre, a dark purple square crystal with silver beads and light purple bicone crystals.

Two-tone, white-washed effect bronze and silver round metal beads with a petal design enhance  the soft effect of this chunky but light necklace.

The focal points are the large round crackle glass beads in various subtle tones of raspberry pink.

Each of the crackle glass and metal beads are separated with small pale pink translucent, faceted glass beads.

The necklace closes with a small antique bronze, patterned toggle clasp which complements this very feminine piece.

Rhubarb Crumble – Necklace from Creative Hands

If it didn’t have so many calories I would eat rhubarb crumble every day and it was the colour of the crackle glass beads and gemstones I have used  in this necklace which inspired its name.

The natural colours of the small semi-precious agate gemstones complement the colours of the beads and are used between each of the larger beads.

I have used tibetan style metal beads and large crackle glass beads to create this warm necklace, a perfect gift for a friend.

The length of the necklace is approx 18” (46cm) and it closes with a tibetan style  bronze toggle clasp.
